These pieces in front of you are in fact small statues embodying the deities that were worshipped and approached in Napata. Historically the first to make some change in the ideological aspect was my father Piye, who during his regime brought some ideas, materials, artists, and craftsmen from Egypt, so he changed rituals such as Funeral practices and others, therefore, the beliefs in Napata became a mixture of the authentic Nubian beliefs and the beliefs shared with Egypt. In the past, people worshipped deities associated with nature and animals, and they practised their worship rituals in caves or on mountain tops, which led many people to believe that mountains and their stones had some sacred power.

The Nubian deities were identified as well as the Egyptian’s, so we find the God "Amon'' and he was represented in the form of a ram, and he was also carved on a number of rings, beads, amulets, etc., and there is also the God "Bes", the god of protection, whom I told you about previously, he was in the form of a dwarf with features of a lion. Also, the Goddess “Isis” was represented by statues with wings, which appeared clearly in some amulets from Napta. and the God "Osiris", who was also represented by small statues, and others in the form of mummies that were positioned in places of worship.
